Meet Katy Johnson – A Model Traveling The World In Search of True Beauty
Katy is a self- proclaimed comedian who loves food, horror films, and women empowerment. She doesn’t take life to seriously and laughs too often. She has a good heart but can also be a feisty little devil as well.
Tell us about a bit about yourself?
I am the biggest goof ball you will ever meet. I love horror films, history documentaries, and theme parks. I laugh too much and don’t take life too seriously. I’m an animal lover and a women empowerment fanatic. I have a sweet tooth and I can be very feisty. I once argued with Leonardo DiCaprio about what city in Italy was the most beautiful.
What was your initial reaction when you were chosen to shoot for FHM?
FHM is such an honour, it has always been my favourite men’s magazine as I think they choose the most beautiful girls. Also living in South Africa for a short time and seeing how many beautiful women are from there it truly is an incredible honour. Thank you!
How do you prepare for a shoot?
I make sure I have a nice tan and don’t eat too much garbage the night before.
Describe your perfect man
Funny, kind hearted, ambitious and humble. Good in bed is also a must! Ha.
What is your ideal date?
Comedy show or a horror film and a nice dinner as I’m such a foodie.
What do you do for fun?
Comedy shows, hiking, working out, trying new restaurants, travel, clubbing, happy hours, moan at my boyfriend.
Tell us a bit about your most embarrassing moment
I was walking down this stair case at a club and there were 3 hot guys at the bottom looking up at me and I was totally feeling myself and then of course I tripped and fell down the stairs. It was truly a moment out of a comedy movie. It hurt so bad but I got up quickly and walked it off. Needless to say, I didn’t speak to any of them. HAHA
What would you say is the most difficult part about being a model?
I think the hardest part is going to castings and seeing so many beautiful women and trying not to compare yourself or feel intimidated. We are all different and beautiful in our own way and we just have to believe that and love ourselves.
What are you most looking forward to doing this year?
I’m working on a documentary about the perception of beauty around the world. I just completed the Europe portion visiting every country in Europe and interviewing women in each city about their perception of beauty and what the true definition of beauty really is. I also did this to teach self-love and self-assurance. It was a beautiful experience and now I’ll be editing the hundreds of hours of footage.
Lastly, what is your life motto, or a quote that means a lot to you?
“Girls compete, women empower” and “Someone else shining bright will never take brightness away from you, there is plenty of success to go around.”
