What an absolute honour to have you as our Cover! How excited were you to be featured on FHM? It was the most wonderful news that I received all year. I am so grateful and blessed for a reason to smile amidst the hardships many in the world are suffering right now. Thank you so much for having me as your cover feature.
Modelling is a big part of your life, could you tell us what inspired you to start and what your journey has been like to get to this point? As a multi-ethnic child, my looks and hair garnered attention so that was the beginning. I started hair modelling as a teenager and glamour modelling when I was 19 and I’m ready to explore my sensual side. Leaving home at 17, it definitely helped ends meet. Then I just fell in love with shooting. I’ve never considered myself beautiful but I loved creating art and seducing the camera.
You look incredible, what are some of your favourite ways to work out? In the morning I take a three-kilometre run before the sun rises. If time permits then I take a 3km stroll in the evening. Housework is actually a great way to work out but not my favourite. Dancing in the kitchen when I cook is also another way to burn calories. I was a pole dancer for years so even without working out my body has retained a lot of muscle strength. You definitely don’t need a gym to stay in shape. Gyms are still closed in my state so its good to stay creative.
We would love to get to know you! Describe to us what a day in your life is like? After my morning run, I take some time to say my prayers and set the intention for the day. Then I make breakfast for everyone and clean. I pack for work and usually leave by 11h30. I check social media a lot during the day for inspiration and to stay in touch with my friends and fans. Then I come home after work, make dinner and clean the house. Afterwards, I usually take my dog for a walk or watch a movie with my family before bed.
What are some of your favourite things to do? Modelling, baking, dancing, reading and writing poetry.
You’re glamorous and fun, what would you say makes you the happiest? It makes me happy when people around me are happy and healthy. It makes me happy to contribute to the well being of my family and anyone in need of help. Every day I remind myself to be happy that I am blessed, healthy, alive and successful. It makes me happy to rescue animals or surprise my loved ones with home-baked desserts on the weekend.
Turn-ons. Kindness, generosity, tact, humour, compassion and a person who uses words well and thinks before speaking.
Turnoffs. Arrogance, racism, lack of privacy, cruelty.
What makes you tick? Humans are a complex mess of mind, spirit and emotion. I am composed of so many different facets but I would say my biggest motivator is passion, sensibility and self-love.
As an established model, what advice can you give aspiring models out there to help them achieve their dreams of doing what you do? Stay positive even in the face of obstacles. Don’t expect everyone to like you. First, you must like yourself. Stay true to yourself but open to other mindsets and views and attitudes. Love yourself and love the body that keeps you thriving and the spirit that fuels you. Visualise your goals every day in your mind’s eye. Watch as they manifest in reality. Be kind and courteous to everyone. You always reap what you sow. Remember that when a door closes, something better is on the way. The minute you let discouragement take over is when doubt clouds your mind and deters your purpose.
Thank you so much for sitting with us and letting us get to know a bit about you! Do you have any last words for our readers out there? Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and for letting me grace FHM. It’s always fun to give others a glimpse into my life and count my blessings. Stay positive and remember to be kind.
